Meet the Agent – Britt Reiss, Rego Sotheby’s International Realty

20170302-0046 [5]This month Property Skipper interviewed Britt Reiss, Sales and Rental Associate at Rego Sotheby’s International Realty for their ‘Meet the Agent’ article. Britt discusses what she enjoys most about her role at Rego Sotheby’s International Realty, Britt’s stunning favorite listing on the market currently and some excellent top tips to consider when you start your new property search.

How long have you been a real estate agent? I received my license two years ago and it has been go, go, go ever since!

Why do you like working for Rego Sotheby’s International Realty? At Rego Sotheby’s International Realty, (RSIR) I have access to comprehensive data on both local and global housing trends. We do not rely on anecdotal theories but facts and figures to empower our clients to make the best possible decisions for themselves. In Bermuda we have an energetic team and full marketing and administrative support so that my fellow Agents and myself are able to get on with selling and renting properties without being weighed down by back office duties. Our brand new office is in the city center, which is also a perk!

What is the favorite part of your job? My favorite part of my job is when a sale or rental is completed and everyone is pleased. One commercial opportunity I am dealing with should result in jobs for Bermudians, and one residential house I sold meant the children could finally have the dog they had longed for. Seeing their excitement brought joy to my heart. There is a lot of emotion in this role!

What is your favorite property on the market right now? Hands down, Windsong at Hidden Cove! It is wonderful 4-bedroom gracious living with South Shore views and superb amenities close by.

How do you see the Bermuda property market over the next 12 months? So far RSIR are holding their share of the market and we have had a strong 2017 gleaning the lion’s share of the luxury real estate market. If you are uncertain as to whether you should list your property, please contact me to discuss with no obligation to list.

What are your top 3 tips when looking a potential new home? When considering a potential new home, the first thing I tell my clients is to evaluate the location and how it suits their family’s needs. For some families it is ideal to live close to town, but some prefer to live further away for any number of reasons. Determine the location that is best for your family. The second tip I would suggest is to get a proper survey and inspection. You don’t want to be blindsided by anything. Buyers should do everything they can to know exactly what it is they are getting. Finally, I’d recommend thinking beyond the starter home. Think about where you’ll be 10 years from now, and if you can still picture your life in that potential new home, that just may be the house for you.

What do you think of propertyskipper.com (we promise not to edit!)? Propertyskipper.com is the island property hub for all things real estate and definitely a “go to” resource for Vendors and Purchasers alike. They are wonderful to work with and have been jolly helpful to me! (ed: Thanks Britt – we appreciate the support from yourself and RSIR also.)
