Rachel is a Bermuda native who brings knowledge and years of experience in sales, marketing and luxury vacation villa management into her budding real estate career.
After graduating from McGill University in Montreal Canada with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Rachel embarked on an eclectic career path in between her global travels that span 40 countries and five continents.
Working in administration in a small law firm after university, afforded Rachel an invaluable education in office management and an introduction to Bermuda laws, while saving for the global travels she had long dreamed of embarking on. Upon returning from travelling across Asia-Pacific and Europe for eight months, she launched and ran a popular daily deals website and sales and marketing platform, BermyDeals. The success of this venture led to her winning a Best of Bermuda Award in the category of entrepreneur, along with a Bermuda TechAward, and Bottom Line Magazine Small Business Award. During this time, she got her start in television broadcasting as the weather and stock report presenter on VSB Bermuda’s evening news where she quickly became a household name.
Desiring to change career path, she took another detour for three months to South America and returned to the island for opportunities in media and broadcasting for the 35th America’s Cup. Rachel worked on camera for both local media and international broadcasters for the years building up to the Cup as well as during the six weeks of racing, while expanding both her local and international network of connections.
After America’s Cup concluded, Rachel travelled through South East Asia for six months as a travel-themed content creator on social media and has grown her personal following to over twenty-six thousand followers on Instagram. She has been featured in Vogue.com and graced the pages of Destination Magazine and Travel + Leisure magazine. Upon returning from her travels, she published her debut novel ‘Runaways’, which follows the story of a young woman chasing her dream of becoming a travel photographer.
After her travels, she was approached by the owners to turn one of Bermuda’s most historic and remarkable waterfront properties into a luxury vacation villa and events space. ‘Sandymount’ quickly gained a following and became a dream destination itself hosting vacationers and weddings from its launch until the pandemic. While managing Sandymount, she honed her eye for detail, ability to understand of the needs and desires of those seeking luxury properties and luxury property marketing skills providing a natural transition into the world of real estate.
